Abstract
225,510. Tampier, R. J. C. Nov. 26, 1923, [Convention date]. Fitted with liquid-level indicators.-A combined tank closure and liquid-level indicator comprises a float 6 secured to a rod 7 pivoted to a support 9 carried on a tube 10 arranged at one side of the filling opening, the end of the tube opposite the support being secured to a boss 1 fixed over an opening in the tank, a closure or filler cap, the head of which is formed by a plate 3, and a rod 12, adapted to slide in the tube and to be operated by the float to actuate a pivoted pointer 15 co-operating with a scale on a dial 4 secured to the filler cap. The filler cap, the dial 4 and the rod 12 are adapted to be removed for filling. The pointer 15 may be held in engagement with a cap 13 on the rod 12 by means of a spring, or the pointer 15 and the rod 12 may be, coupled by a link or fork connection. The plate 3 is secured to the boss by a screwed ring 2. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a combined closure and indicator, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), wherein the float-. rod 7 is pivoted to an extension of the dial 4 and is coupled to the pointer 15 by links 19. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
