225,333. Boucher, C. L. Oct. 12, 1923. Burners, attaching and mounting, applications of; flame deflectors.-In an apparatus for hardening the wearing surfaces of wheels, tyres, &c. the wheel E is rotatably mounted in bearings C adjustable on bridge-pieces B supported! by a standard and the tank A, and the heating burner S is carried by a clamp R secured to a slide 0 capable of transverse movement by means of a screw and a hand-wheel Q. The slide 0 is carried bv a block N adapted to be moved along a frame K carried by a bracket J by a screw L operated by a hand-wheel M. Baffles V carried by arms c secured to the bearings C prevent the flames from passing upwardly.
