Abstract

222,808. Ogden, J. July 12, 1923. Air supply, heating and regulating. - Heated air is supplied to a fire-bridge D described in Specification 222,594, from a pipe C passing through the boiler flue from the rear, the supply of air being controlled by a valve C<1> which is closed when the furnace door is opened. Additional air is admitted to the fire-bridge from the ashpit through an opening controlled by a damper d<2>. The furnace may be provided with a mass of chequer brickwork behind the fire-bridge as described in Specification 222,809.
