Abstract

222,533. Mahn, F. May 7, 1923. Stockings &c. are made with legs of close warp fabric on to which the feet or parts of the feet are knitted. The holes in the cut edge of the warp fabric for receiving the knitting stitches are formed in a sewing- machine, by pointed needles on a rake on to which the fabric is run, or by the pointed heads of the heel-knitting needles. In the stocking shown in Fig. 2, the heel and toe are knitted on to the leg at c d and e f and the edges from d to e or g are connected by stitching. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 106,058.
