Atmospherics and undesired signals, eliminating.-A receiver is made responsive to a particular wave-length by providing a piezo-electric coupling between successive circuits. Such a coupling passes on energy only of a particular frequency determined by the dimensions of the crystal. As shown, the plate circuit of a highfrequency amplifier includes a tuned circuit 19, 22 across which are connected plates 9, 12 cemented to opposite faces of the piezo-electric crystal 11. Similar plates 13, 14 are shunted by a leak 21 in the grid circuit of a detector valve. The first valve may be a detector or self-heterodyne valve, and the second may be one stage in a multi-stage amplifier. The condenser may be omitted.
