Abstract

Switches, without quick action.-In a stopping and turning indicator for vehicles of the type, in which lamps are selectively lighted under the control of a master switch, the switch lever moves in a " gate " in a similar manner to a gearchanging lever, and the cautionary signal SLOW is always displayed first in the central position of the lever. A circular disc k pivoted on a longitudinal axis has a projecting lug l on which is pivoted the switch lever n which carries a toepiece o passing through a slot p in the disc for bridging in the central position contacts r corresponding to SLOW, and in the rearward position contacts s corresponding to STOP. The lever may be moved to either side from the central position to rotate the disc k, thereby bringing through a flexible wire a member z into engagement with one of two contacts 9, 10 corresponding to the turning signals. A snap spring may be provided to retain the switch lever in its inoperative position, and a spring catch 15 registers the neutral position of the disc k. A spring cap 14 on the lever may be depressed on to a contact 13 to sound an audible signal.
