Abstract

220,509. Bryan, G. A. Oct. 31, 1923. Water-tube boilers.-Side members have water tubes 11 running to and fro across the heating chamber connecting top and bottom headers and alternating with those connecting the headers on the other side. Every cross-run of a tube is above the space in the loop of the adjacent tube connected to the other side. Upright water legs 3 connect the top and bottom headers. The ends of all the tubes are connected in pairs to the headers by detachable fittings which comprise a bridge-piece 14 held by a screw bolt 15 and bearing on tube ends 12 each of which has a coned spigot fitting into an appropriate hole in the header.
