Abstract

220,181. Bullivant, F. A., and Selby, G. M. Sept. 10, 1923. Shearing; shear-blades.-Wire ropes &c. are severed by cutters a<2>, b<2>, the former of which is fixed in a bed-plate A, the latter being reciprocated in an upper frame B by a hand lever D having a cam-end d. The frame B is hinged to the bed-plate at C, and may be locked in the closed position, after insertion of the rope &c., by a pin f. The cutter b<2> is formed with an inclined serrated edge.
