263,279. Bennie, H. 0., and Orr, R. W. Nov. 30, 1925. Shearing; shear-blades. - A plate-shearing machine has a cutter 1 for severing along the line C D and a cutter 2 for severing across the waste strip. The cutters are arranged to allow the cut plate to clear the frame 4. The end of the plate is sheared by the cutter 2 and the waste is cross cut by the cutter 1 without slewing the plate. A head 3, reciprocated by crank mechanism, carries the blades 1, 2 which cooperate with stationary blades 5, 6. For cutting a plate to a concave shape the junction of the blades is rounded. The waste drops through a hole 7 in the machine frame.
