Abstract

137,393. Mein, T. O., and Cook, W. J. Jan. 27, 1919. Splitting; cutters.-A device for use in place of the ordinary chopper comprises an upstanding cutter 1 rigidly fixed, as by clamps 4, upon a block 3, the wood to be split being placed upon the cutter and forced down, as by a hammer blow. The cutter may be of equiangular section, each edge being a cutting edge, so that when one be. comes blunted another can readily be brought into use. The block 3 is shaped to form, with the cutter, a wedge.
