Abstract

219,121. Winfield, T. C., and Rea, J. C. May 14, 1923. Heating by electricity. -A holder for arc welding electrodes comprises a hollow metal stem S through which passes a rod 0 connected to one of the jaws D and adapted to open or close the switch contacts B, C, the rod being operated by a lever A through the link G. The switch is contained in the handle J and is automatically locked in the closed position while the electrode is held in the jaws. Springs E are provided to ensure good contact between the parts B, C, whatever size of electrode is used.
