Abstract

218,794. Brian, F. C. May 15, 1923. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Fixed - chamber apparatus.-The measuring chamber A communicates with a hopper M when a slide B is moved out by linkage F, G from a shaft F', the lower end being at the same time closed by a pivoted door C held closed by camshaped d levers F<2> mounted on the same shaft F<1> engaging pins E on the door. When the shaft F<1> is rocked to close the slide B the door is freed to open under the weight of material in the chamber A. The slide B is held closed during discharge of the chamber A by the pins E intercepting extensions F<3> of the levers F. The capacity of the chamber A may be varied by adjusting the position of a wedge J<1> located in a recess in one side of the chamber by means of a nut K<2> and pivoted screw. When the discharge is completed the door C is closed by the counterweight D permitting the levers F to be rocked to open the slide, the cam-shaped levers F<2> locking the door in the closed position.
