Automatic-feed weighers.-Means for preventing the opening of the feed gate f of an automaticfeed weigher until sufficient material to complete a weighing operation has accumulated in the supply hopper b, comprises a plate a pivoted at its lower end within the hopper, and counterbalanced by a weighted lever m so that it is normally vertical. A stop g on the gate is normally engaged by a lever h to hold the gate closed, and means actuated by the plate a are provided to move the lever h and allow the gate to open. When sufficient material has accumulated. in the hopper, the plate tilts about its pivot c thereby raising the lever m and, through a link n, causing a set-screw q, mounted on a lever p, to engage a lip k on the lever h which is rotated to release the stop g. An extension s of the plate may be adjusted longitudinally to vary the working level of the material in the hopper.
