Abstract

218,447. Keene, E. W. W. May 24, 1923. Rotary filters.-A ring provided with a jointing face is used to fix the cloth of a rotary drum filter at a point not situated on the periphery of the drum. As shown, the cloth is lapped over the end of the drum and held in place against a machined flange surface b of the end plate by a packing-ring d resting in a machined groove c on a ring a. The end of the cloth may be secured on a lug facing o on the ring by means of a band clip p, so that the cloth is automatically tensioned when the ring is drawn into position by means of nuts screwing on bolts f, which are pivoted to the end plate and engage in slots on the ring a. Rods k, connecting the rings at either end, engage in longitudinal recesses in the drum, hold the filter cloth to the periphery of the drum, and make longitudinal seam joints.
