March 20, 1923, Cam-actuated pumps ; stroke, varying. - The cam shaft 1 carrying cams 2, 3 for the fuel pumps 4, 5 is adjusted axially by a governor 10 the shaft 8 of which is mounted in line with the cam shaft, the cams 2, 3 being tapered for varying the length of stroke. The governor arms act on a collar 11 on the cam shaft, prongs 12 on the collar working between rollers 10<1> carried by the governor shaft.
