Abstract
212,727. Maginn, J. Feb. 22, 1923. Folding boxes; fittings, internal.-Relates to means for packing electric lamps, lamp globes, lamp chimneys, bottles, and like fragile articles. A blank a, Fig. 1, is scored at b, e and cut through at f. Slots g are cut in the lesser portion of the blank so as to leave intervening strips h. The blank is folded at e and the parts 1, 2 bent round and secured to flaps' c to assume the form shown in Fig. 4. The parts k form interlocking diagonal arms and the parts k<1> are bent transversely so that the strips h form loops i which interlock and within which the lamp &c. is held. The objects may be held in position endways by scoring the diagonally opposite corners of the cartons at o, Fig. 7, and cutting at n so that the parts p may be sprung inwardly to engage the articles. In another form, two adjacent triangular pieces are sprung inwardly from the meeting sides of the carton.
