Abstract

Liquid fuel, supplying.-In a lubricating apparatus which, it is stated, may be used for raising fuel oil from a main tank to an auxiliary tank above the engine, lubricating oil is forced from a tank 1 through pipes 6 by the pressure set up in the crank case 4 of the engine, which communicates with the tank by a pipe 5 containing a non-return valve 2, which opens during periods of pressure in the case. Oil collected in the casing returns to the tank when the valve opens. For collecting oil from bearings such as 14, outside the casing, a receptacle is provided which communicates with a chamber 15 by a pipe 17. The chamber 15 is connected to the casing 4 by a pipe 16 through a non-return valve 13 which opens during periods of vacuum in the casing. A hand pump 9 is provided, and a filter 12.
