Abstract

Heat-concentrators.-A device for concentrating heat on utensils placed in or over pot-holes in the hot-plate of a cooking range comprise a cylindrical member 3 which is substituted for the largest of the usual concentric rings 1 fitting in the pot-hole. The member 3 is provided with an opening .4 for escape of the products of combustion and has, at its lower end, an inturned flange adapted to support a second set of rings 2 which when the utensil is in position, forms with the upper rings 1 a chamber through which the gases pass before escaping to the chimney. Direct passage of the gases to the chimney is prevented by making up the entrance 6 to the outlet flue with cement and tiles. One of the rings 2 is provided on part of its circumference with an upstanding flange 7 which, when a small utensil is being heated, is positioned immediately in-front of the smoke outlet 4.
