Abstract
211,613. France, A. Dec. 8, 1922. Separating by gravity. - A series of settling tanks A, through which coal-washing water or other liquid under treatment passes successively, is mounted on wheeled carriages B on a permanent way D, which has an inclined portion, so that the tanks stand at different levels and the liquid can overflow from one tank to another through a spout F. The settling-tanks may be V-shaped in cross-section and mounted on trunnions on the carriages, so that they may be readily tipped to discharge the solid matter. According to the Provisional Specification the tanks may be so constructed that the top of each is a little lower than the preceding one.
