Abstract

211,557. Hobson, A. H., and Mitchell, R. S. Nov. 18, 1922. Sugar cutters.-Block chocolate is cut or broken by a number of blades or spikes 13 fixed to a plate 12 bolted to a second plate 15 sliding on guides 16 and operated by a lever 8 and link 10. Pieces of chocolate adhering to the blades &c. 13 are removed by a perforated plate 19. The spikes may be chiselended and arranged in three rows, the spikes in the middle row being longer than the others, as shown in Fig. 2. The chocolate is contained in a box 20 provided with partitions 23 sliding in slots in the ends of the box and pressed inwards by blade springs 21. In a modification the springs and partitions are made in one piece.
