Abstract

331,657. Bush, W. G. May 29, 1929. Stringing beans &c.-Vegetables are sliced by being moved while on a carrier 1 under a number of cutters 8 depending from a bridge piece 7 extending across the path of the carrier. Spring side cutters 9 for paring the edges of beans or the like are arranged at the sides of the frame of the device. The carrier is provided with pins 6 on which the vegetable is impaled. One end 4 of the carrier is turned up to provide a grip for the operator and a projection or lug to form an abutment for the vegetable being treated may be provided. This projection or lug may be bent over to grip the vegetable.
