Abstract

167,055. Searby, W. June 18, 1920. Cutting and slicing cane.-A rotary cane-cutter comprises a series of resilient knives 3, detachably mounted on rods 4, so that they can swing freely in the plane of cutting, and adjustably spaced between the plates 6 by means of washers 12, so that they can yield to lateral pressure. The blades are adjustably staggered by varying the number of washers on each side of the knives in different rows. The rods 4 are detachably supported by plates 5, 6, which are separated by spacing-blocks 7 and keyed to the shaft 1.
