Abstract

227,555. Gibbon, G. Nov. 5, 1923. Reaping and mowing machines. - A bar 1 arranged below the usual knife bar 2 has secured to it by rivets 5 a number of knives 4 tapering forwardly to blunt ends and bevelled on their sides to produce cutting edges. The slots in the finger bars 6 are deepened to receive the knives 4 which merely lie therein. The knife bar 2 with its knives 3 rests on the knives 4 and is held thereon by removable guards 8. By removing the guards the knife bar with its associated knives can be taken out and then the lower knives 4 and the bar 1 lifted out. Abutments prevent lateral movement of the bar 1. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 3195/77 and 10029/87.
