Dynamos and motors combined for transmitting power.-In a propulsion system for a multiplescrew ship the separately driven direct-current generators are divided into two groups and the motors are provided with double armatures, each group of generators being connected in series with one of the armatures of each motor in order that the torques on the propellers may be maintained equal in the event of a breakdown of one of the engines.
