Abstract

209,830. Siciliano, A. Oct. 18, 1922. Spray burners.--The tubular body 1 of a spray burner is fitted at its delivery end with a diaphragm 2 and nozzle 3 secured in position by a screw ring 4. The oil passes to the spraying orifice f through ports a in the diaphragm, a large ring-shaped distributing chamber band tangential orifices c in the nozzle, and a hemispherical shell-like chamber d formed between a projection on the diaphragm and a cavity in the nozzle. A filter consisting of gauze 9, arranged between two perforated discs 7, 8 is adapted during removal to clean the internal surface of the body 1. The burner may be started with cold oil if a nozzle having a larger orifice f and shaped to form a larger chamber d is used.
