Abstract

209,680. O'Callaghan, D. June 30, 1923. Fuel containers. - A drawing-off arrangement is fitted to a petrol tin in order that it may serve as a petrol tank. The apparatus comprises a spout a held to the exit from the container by means of a finger c rigid with the lower part of the spout and adapted to be drawn up against the inside surface of the exit aperture by means of a threaded bush f<1> on the outside of the spout or by means of a spring. A second rigid finger diametrically opposite the first may be associated with it, or a movable finger d mounted on a spring-actuated rotatable rod d<1> may be used, the finger being rotatable from the position shown to the diametrically opposite position. An air relief pipe or hole and a removable strainer may be employed, or the movable grip may be tubular to serve as a vent. An adapter is fitted on the exit pipe so that the petrol tin may serve as a petrol tank.
