Abstract

237,856. Browne, S. H. Aug. 4, 1924, [Convention date]. Spouts.-A spout for containers such as those for petrol and lubricating oil adapted to be reversed and housed within the container, consists in the form shown in Fig. 4 of a pipe union 12 secured to the container and having a contraction 14 with threaded aperture 15 in which a threaded glandiform collar 20 on the spout engages. The union 12 has a plug 17 or a screwcap and the contraction 14 has a vent 16, a wire handle 22 being provided for manipulating the spout. In another arrangement a pipe nipple or socket on the container may engage an internally or externally threaded end of a union which contains a contraction 14 in which the spout engages.
