Abstract

292,273. Nott, G. March 25, 1927. Framing; suction and delivery reservoirs.-A pump for withdrawing a small quantity of liquid from a container such as motor-spirit cans, oil drums &c. comprises a barrel 1 and suction pipe 18 with telescopic extension 18<1> which is inserted into the nozzle of the can and is secured by a union 15 which by engagement with the threaded nozzle holds down an L-section flange 2 fast on the barrel. The upward movement of the union 15 is limited by a flange 16 against which the cap 3 is secured a washer 16' being interposed. The cap is apertured to serve as a guide for the pump plunger 6 a leak-proof gland 7 being provided. The delivery-spout 13 is secured by a union 14. The cap is provided with a spring- loaded valve 10 which prevents evaporation of the liquid by obstructing the spout 13 except during the delivery stroke of the pump.
