Abstract

16,111. Meatyard, A. R. Oct. 29. Funnels.-Relates to a funnel for introducing liquids, such as drainings, bottoms, &c. of beer, or finings, to the bottom of a cask without disturbing the contents. The funnel B is provided with a series of interchangeable stems b<2> adapted to reach nearly to the bottom of the cask, or with a telescopic stem, or with a stem of large diameter screwed on at F. Within the stem is an air vent tube b<4>, and within the funnel a removable strainer C. With projecting handles c<1> the funnel may be graduated and provided with a float to show when the cask is full and may be provided with a curved stand to fit the shape of the cask.
