[Class 125 (ii)] A funnel for use ir filling bottles &c comprises a syphor device 2 communicat ing with the outlet 3 The column of liquic in the syphon is disturbed or broken up by the rising liquid in the bottle when the desired level has been reached. The dia meter of the tube 2 is less than that of the outlet 3 so that when the liquid level in the bottle reaches the outlet, air is trapped and the fluid column is broken up in the syphon. The cap 5 may be raised by means of a handle 8 to break up the fluid column. In a modification, a float raises a valve in the syphon to break the liquid column when the desired level has been reached.
