Abstract

Signals; spouts. - An apparatus for filling liquids into the reservoirs of oil lamps and other vessels comprises a tapering spouted funnel c detachably secured around the mouth of a supply container c. and means for preventing overfilling which leave an unobstructed passage for the liquid from the container to the mouth of the spout. As shown, when the liquid reaches the level of a float i pivoted to the spout of the funnel, the float actuates through a guided red m, a visible indicator o near the top of the funnel. Alternatively, a vent tube extending from the top of the funnel to the mouth of the spout checks the filling operation when the level of the spout is reached, the level being determined by an adjustable gauges on the spout. The connection between the funnel and the container a is made fluid-tight by the use of a gasket c.
