Abstract

209,439. Baron, H., (Signal Ges.). July 7, 1922. Liquids and gases, separating.-Liquid to be freed from gas is supplied in an unbroken stream to a vessel in which it is subjected to reduced pressure and centrifugal action. Suitable apparatus comprises a cylinder 1 having a propeller 2 and outlets 5, 9 communicating respectively with a centrifugal pump 6 and a vacuum pump 8. Liquid enters through the pipe 4 controlled by a throttle valve 12 and is withdrawn by the pump 6; gas is withdrawn by the pump 8. The centrifugal device 2 may be constructed to assist the reduction of pressure on the incoming liquid, or may serve as the sole source of reduced pressure. Specification 139,998 is referred to.
