Abstract

208,802. Major, F. F. E., Miles, G. H., and Smith, C. C. Sept. 29, 1922. Money boxes or receivers; change - giving apparatus. -Relates to apparatus applicable to meters, vending-machines &c. in which the coins after freeing these machines are stored in a tube and are withdrawn as change on the insertion of a coin of higher value, and in which a lever pivoted outside the tube and having one arm extending therein is acted on by the coins, when the tube is full or contains sufficient change, to cause the other arm carrying an indicating dial to be moved so that the dial is visible through a sight hole. According to the invention, the dial 7 on the horizontally pivoted lever 4 is disposed parallel to the axis of the pivot 5. The pivot 5 has an arm 5<x> which works in a gap 11 in one side of a casing 10 in which the lever is pivoted, and limits the movement of the lever.
