[Class 27] A coin-operated indicating money-box for collecting at regular intervals a fixed payment, e.g. for the hire of gas and electric appliances and fittings, comprises a box a, Figs. 1 and 2, having a front plate b which is secured in position by a spring-controlled detent t engaging a notch s in a tongue r projecting from the rear wall of the box. The detent may be released by inserting a key v through a hole w to engage a screw-threaded end u of the spindle of the detent. A coin inserted through a slot c in the plate b into a slotted drum e, which is rotated by a handle f, actuates a four-toothed star-wheel g, a second star-wheel j rigid there with engaging a wheel k, which carries a disc m bearing numerals 0 to 13 to show through an aperture n. Two flat springs 3, 4 locate the wheels g, k after these are rotated. A pawl o engages the coin and prevents it from rotating the wheel g in the reverse direction. The inserted coins collect in the bottom of the box a which is provided with an inclined bottom. The mechanism is carried between the front plate b and a rear plate p rigid therewith. In a modification, two indication discs are provided, one displaying the numerals 1 to 4 and the other the names of the months of the year.
