405,226. Prepayment mechanism for meters. METERS, Ltd., Blackfriars House, Parsonage, Manchester, and GLOVER, W. T., 37, Grasmere Road, Clarksfield, Oldham. Sept. 30, 1933, No. 26970. [Class 27.] Indicators.-A circular rack d carrying a pointer g<1> is located around the barrel a of the coin holder mechanism of a prepayment meter, and is traversed by a pinion f on a spindle g to indicate on a scale h the quantity prepaid but imconsumed. The rack is held in place by a member e secured to the barrel a, and the spindle g is rotated in opposite directions by the prepayment and metering mechanisms respectively. The rack also carries a rod j which obstructs, when the maximum number of coins has been inserted, the coin discharge aperture k in the barrel a through which a coin drops to the money-box after setting forward the quantity mechanism. When the last permissible coin to be inserted is thus prevented from dropping, it prevents return of the coinholder to its initial position and the insertion of further coins until some commodity has been consumed.
