1439382 Credit accumulating WURLITZER CO 6 Sept 1973 [8 Sept 1972] 42042/73 Heading G4D A credit accumulating system comprises means 11 for receiving credit units of various denominations and issuing pulses representing, in number, the value of the units; a pulse frequency divider which is settable to determine the number of pulses which will represent one selection credit (the basic price unit of an automatic vending machine such as a juke box); an up-down counter 14 for registering the number of selection credits received less the number used up, e.g. in a vending operation; a bonus control circuit 13 receiving the pulses from the receiver 11 and delivering a bonus pulse to the counter 14 as the accumulated number of pulses reaches successive predetermined values. For instance receiver 11 may accept dollars and cents in paper money or coin or suitable tokens and deliver a pulse for every 5c received; divider 12 divides by two so one credit is stored at 14 for every 10c received; the bonus circuit 13 issues adds an extra credit after every 5 pulses or 25c. The number of credits granted is displayed at 18. Bonuses continue to be added at set values until a selection is made on the juke box when the pulse counter in the bonus circuit is reset to zero; any partial bonus earned is then lost. The Specification describes in detail the complete logic circuit for the system (Figs. 2A-2E, not shown) which can be formed as a single large scale integrated circuit.
