Abstract

207,349. Smith, H. H. Oct. 24, 1922. Giffard injectors. - The inner end of a central steam nozzle A is made co-terminal with the inner end of an annular steam nozzle B, and the cross-sectional area of the central nozzle, at its inner end, is approximately one half that of the throat of the diffuser C. A separate steam supply is provided for each nozzle. At starting, steam is admitted solely to the nozzle A, from which it issues as a fine stream, being subsequently admitted to the annular nozzle.
