236,830. Friedmann, L., Blauhorn, E., and Deutsch, H. July 1, 1924. Giffard injectors.-In a device employing a live steam nozzle 3 and an exhaust steam nozzle 4 for forcing water fed to a nozzle 5 through a combining cone 6 and delivery cone 8 into a locomotive boiler, the casing is divided into two parts 1, 2 along a plane perpendicular to the axis of the injector and so that one of these parts contains the set of steam cones and the other part the combining and delivery cones. The purpose of this arrangement is to ensure strict axial coincidence between the cones of each set of cones, as it is stated that slight deviations between the axes of the two sets do not seriously affect the satisfactory operation of the injector. By this arrangement, the parts are more readily assembled with accuracy. The water cone 5 may be positioned in either of the casings 1, 2.
