Abstract

206,730. McIntyre, J. H. Dec. 9, 1922. Feeding-appliances for animals.-A feeder for pigs &c. comprises a hopper 1 connected to each of one or more troughs 10 underneath it by a delivery outlet 2, which is normally closed by a flap valve 4 rigid with a lever 5 pivoted at 6 and counterweighted at 7. When the pig &c. pushes in the door 8 to reach the trough 10 the lever 5 is rocked to the position shown in dotted lines so that food passes from the hopper to the trough. A baffle 3 prevents choking of the outlet 2. In the drawing only one half of the hopper is shown, there being one or more troughs on each side.
