Abstract

201,365. Savile, R. A. June 26, 1922. Feeding-appliances for animals.-A trough into which meal passes continuously from a hopper is fitted with a hinged door or lid which the animals raise with their snouts in order to obtain access to the food, the lid resting on their shoulders during feeding. The invention may be applied to a feeding-device as described in Specification 185,034, and shown in plan in Fig. 2, having a central hopper 4 adjustably supported above a trough 1 that is divided by radial partitions 2. Each compartment is fitted with a cover 9, pivoted at 10 to the adjacent partitions and overlapping the front edge of the trough so that the animal can lift it. The hopper also has a cover (not shown) and adjusting-devices 6 for height, whereby the feed may be regulated.
