721,984. Poultry feeding appliances. BEBBINGTON, P. July 14, 1953 [Aug. 28, 1952], No. 21607/52. Class 5 (2). A feeding trough for poultry is provided with closure flaps 16 connected by links 19 and levers 20 to perches 21 upon which the fowls stand when feeding, means being provided for feeding water to the trough when the fowls are feeding. As shown a water tank 22 is attached to a food hopper 12 and is connected by a flexible tube 27 to a spray pipe disposed in the trough, the tube 27 being attached to the link 19 so that. when the flaps 16 are closed a link is formed in the tube 27 preventing the flow of water. Fowls alighting on the perches 21 cause the flaps 16 to open and the water to flow from the tank 22. The hopper 12 is fitted with a removable lid 14 provided with an anti-perch bar 15.
