[Also in Division F2] A water supply valve 2 mounted on a support 4 is opened by a spring 16 acting on a lever 11 and closed by weight of water in a drinking trough 1 which is linked by a wire 12 and hook 14 to the lever 11 and has an apertured plate 5 coacting with a bracket 7 on the support 4 to form a pivot. The water passes to the trough by way of a shoot 19. A lever 20 can be set to hold the valve closed whilst the trough is removed for cleaning. The appliance may be suspended from a chain &c. by one or more wires 10 fitted to the support 4.
