Abstract

218,502. Spence, W. L. July 21, 1923. Feeding-appliances for animals.-A movable trough B arranged below the outlet of a feedhopper is connected to a rod D passing up through the hopper outlet, the clearance being such that the food does not normally pass through but is caused to pass as the rod is moved by the animal depressing the trough. The troughs are hinged at the front around a circular, polygonal, or rectangular frame, and separated by partitions, the rear of each trough being supported by the hooked end of the rod D, the upper end being connected to a spring F'. A stop J, movable in a slot to rest on any of the studs L, limits or prevents the movement of the rod. An agitator comprising a pair of L-shaped vanes E may be attached to the rod D.
