Feeding-appliances for animals.-A device having a hopper from which food is delivered to a trough is provided in the hopper outlet with a fixed valve or choke device opened or freed when the hopper is vibrated. Troughs C, C2 are separated by a ridge-piece D which projects into the outlet F3 of the hopper F, suspended by chains &c. Eg from adjustable hooks E. Normally the hopper outlet is sufficiently obstructed to prevent food passing to the trough, but when the outer door A5 is pushed back by an animal it strikes the hopper and causes the release of food. A block H may be fitted to the door A5 to contact with the hopper near the top. A removable flap may be attached to the inside of the hopper to rest upon the ridge piece and prevent the passage of food to one of the troughs. According to the Provisional Specification adjusting devices may be fitted to bring the hopper &c. into a horizontal position when the device is used on sloping ground.
