Abstract

1292673 Teat feeders J V MARREN 25 March 1970 44144/69 Heading A1M A teat feeder for young animals has a bar 5 holding teats 12. The bar 5 is connected to lower bar 3 by struts 4 to form a frame. The frame is pivoted and retained in a vertical position by a locking device 27, and may be lowered to an operative position defined by the struts 4 engaging bolts 20, either manually, or by hydraulic rams (not shown) which may be actuated under the control of a timing device. Raising the frame terminates flow of feed by raising the teats above the level of feed in a feed tank 21. Valves to control feeding may be fitted at the outlet of tank 21 or elsewhere in the feed pipeline. A pump may continuously circulate the feed which may be maintained at a desired temperature by heating means.
