Abstract
1279701 Animal feeding apparatus FORDERTECHNIK STREICHER GmbH 23 June 1969 [21 June 1968 30 Aug 1968] 31553/69 Heading AIM [Also in Division F2] In a livestock feeding device fodder is fed into an intermediate container, from which fodder supply pipes lead the fodder to opening which are adjacent feeding stations, each fodder supply pipe has an adjustable valve associated with it. The complete cattle feeding device comprises a food stuff preparation chamber 1, fodder pump 2, fodder feed pipe 3, feed metering device 4, separate fodder supply pipes 5 leading to fodder troughs. The fodder enters the intermediate chamber 7 of the metering device via pipe 3. This device has valves 12, and valve seats 10, which control the supply of fodder to the feed supply pipes 5. The valves are actuated by motor 22, lifting plate 17 with which the valve stems 14 are in contact via stops 20. The amount of feed supply can be varied by adjusting the position of stops 20. Water may be fed into chamber 7 via pipe 34 and tap 35 for cleaning. In an alternative embodiment the valves are actuated by means of pivot arms and a rotating motor driven cam arm, Fig. 4 (not shown). In yet another embodiment the rotating motor driven cam arm acts directly on the valve stems, Fig. 6 (not shown).
