Abstract
1,168,222. Teat feeding device. MAUSER K.G. 17 Jan., 1968 [19 Jan., 1967], No. 2497/68. Heading AIM. A feeding device for young cattle comprises a casing having teats, the casing enclosing a storage container 25 for dried milk powder, a hot water vessel 1 and a feeding vessel 13 in direct thermal contact with the hot water vessel. The hot water and dried milk powder are supplied to the feeding vessel 13 through a mixing mechanism 22 comprising a motor driven impeller. Mains water is supplied to the hot water vessel via a magnetic valve 2, and is-heated by a coil 8 controlled by a thermostat 10, the water level is the hot water vessel being float-controlled. Hot water is delivered to the mixing mechanism 22 via a time-controlled magnetic valve (26) Fig. 1 (not shown). The storage container 25 is resiliently attached to the device and comprises a motor driven screw conveyor (31) which conveys the dried milk powder to an impeller (34) which conveys the dried milk to the mixing mechanism 22 through a chute (35) Fig. 3 (not shown). The storage container has a vibrator (37) attached to it. The level of the rearing mixture in the feeding vessel 13 is controlled by floats 17 which actuate a time controlled electric switch (20) Fig. 1 (not shown). This mechanism controls the inflow of hot water and the delivery of dried milk powder into the mixing mechanism 22. The teat feed lines pass through the hot water to keep the feed warm.
