Abstract

1444581 Dispensing device for feeding animals at preselected intervals CROMPTON PLASTICS Ltd 22 March 1974 [15 March 1973] 12525/73 Heading AIM [Also in Division B8] A dispensing device for feeding animals at preselected intervals comprises: a container 7 mounted for movement between a dispensing position 7A and a retaining position 7B, restraining means 11 for holding the container 7 in the retained position; and a timing mechanism 16 incorporating release means 17 for disengaging the restraining means. In a preferred embodiment a plurality of containers are mounted in a housing 1 having a feed trough or manger 19. The containers are filled with animal fodder and the timing mechanism releases the containers at preselected intervals. The housing has a plurality of mounting positions (9) Fig. 4 (not shown) corresponding to various release times obtained by the radial dispositions of release arms 17 on a shaft 15 rotated by a clock motor 16. The release arms may be replaced by cam and follower mechanisms Figures 6 and 7 (not shown). The containers may be compartmented to contain differing feed stuffs, to be mixed upon dispensing, such as bran and water.
