Boring-bars; cutters: taps.-An adjustable cutter for boring, reaming or tapping, of the type in which two plates, each with a cutting edge at one end, are clamped together face to face, comprises two flat parts a, b arranged to slide parallel to one another on adjustment, the adjacent faces of which have semi-circular recesses e<1>, d<1> which are screwed and plain respectively. Adjustment is effected by screws f, f<1> engaging the ends of the plain recesses, and locking by a bolt c. The composite cutter may float in a transverse slot g<1> of the holder within limits imposed by an axially adjustable rod engaging central slots in the cutters.
