[Class 83 (iii)] The reamer or boring bar described in the parent Specification is modified by providing threaded bushes e in the ends of the cutters a for engagement by the screws d projecting from the gear-wheel c, and a spindle h which is carried by a forked member f<SP>2</SP> straddling the gear-wheel c and has its ends slidable in openings i in the head b parallel to the cutters, compression springs k being located between the ends of the spindle h and adjusting screws threaded in the ends of the openings i so that the cutters, gear-wheel and forked member assembly can float within determined limits. Projections or interrupted flanges provided on the bushes may engage annular grooves in the cutters, and, according to the Provisional Specification, may be of dovetailed form.
